Get Lucky with Ortman & Arroyo Robles

We invite you to get lucky in advance of St. Patrick’s Day as we team up with Arroyo Robles Winery for an “Irish Twilight” celebration on Saturday, March 13 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The festivities will include Celtic music, complimentary Irish fare and special savings on select wine purchases at both of our tasting rooms in downtown Paso Robles, which are located within two blocks of each other.

Arroyo Robles Winery (a.k.a. Arroyo O’Robles) will feature Irish potato leek soup and soda bread, while Ortman Family Vineyards (a.k.a. O’rtman) will offer cupcakes made with Bailey’s Irish Cream. Acoustic music will be performed by Jeff Trefftzs, and guests are encouraged to wear festive green attire. Leprechauns are optional.

During the event—as well as throughout the weekend of March 13-14—we will also extend 10 percent savings on all wine purchases, and 15 percent savings on case purchases of 12 or more bottles.

Additionally, we will extend mutual privileges to our wine club members, allowing members to enjoy 20 percent savings on wine purchases and 30 percent savings on case purchases at both wineries. Any new members who sign up with either winery will enjoy immediate membership benefits.

Here’s the scoop:

What: A festive evening of Irish-style fun, food and music, as well as special savings on wine purchases throughout the weekend.

Where: Ortman Family Vineyards tasting room at 1317 Park Street and Arroyo Robles Winery tasting room at 739 12th Street, both in downtown Paso Robles.

When: Main event is on Saturday, March 13 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Special savings will be extended throughout the weekend of March 13-14.

Cost: Food is complimentary. Normal tasting fees apply.

A Perfect Pairing with OFV & Thomas Hill Organics
Celebrate spring with a four-course Winemaker Dinner featuring our wines paired with the fresh flavors of Thomas Hill Market Bistro & Wine Bar on March 24 at 6:30 p.m. This Paso Robles hot spot boasts seasonal organic ingredients and the creative abilities of Chef Julie Simon, a Parisian native who believes in nurturing strong relationships with local ranchers, winemakers, artisans and purveyors.

Winemaker Matt Ortman will guide you through the evening's menu: Mano de Leon Scallop al Carbonara with Crispy Pancetta paired with our 2007 Chardonnay Edna Valley. Chicken Liver Pate and Smoked Duck Prosciutto paired with our 2006 Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills. Fire Roasted Porchetta paired with our 2007 Sangiovese Paso Robles; and Thomas Hill's own Wine Infused Candy spheres. The price is $36 for the dinner and an additional $12 for wine pairings.

And if you are game to start the party early, you are invited to join Matt and Lisa Ortman at our tasting room at 5:30 p.m. for barrel samples before walking over to Thomas Hill for dining.

The Art of Wine

Explore the fusion of art and wine at this downtown event featuring the winemakers of the Paso Robles Downtown Wineries and the artists of Studios on the Park. Tour the artists' studios and discover our amazing local talent. Taste boutique wines paired with seasonally-inspired, locally-sourced hors d'oeuvres and artisanal cheeses. 28th Annual Paso Robles Wine Festival

On May 21 – 23, 2010, Paso Robles Wine Country comes together to celebrate the 28th Annual Wine Festival. Beginning the evening of Friday, May 21, select wineries will join together in the Paso Robles Downtown City Park to feature their reserve, barrel sample or library wines, as well as present a tasting of power whites and Rosés.

Saturday, May 22, is a day packed full with a bevy of activities. Start your morning Downtown enjoying art, entertainment, the local farmers market and scrumptious breakfast options; the perfect preparation for the wine-filled day to come. In the afternoon over 90 wineries reconvene in the Paso Robles Downtown City Park to showcase more than 400 wines. The choices and variety don’t stop at the wines; in addition, music by the Mighty Croon Dogs, artisanal foods, chef demonstrations and the personalities of wine country are there to show you the diversity that Paso Robles Wine Country has to offer.

New elements for the 2010 Paso Robles Wine Festival include a later start and end time for the Grand Tasting (3 - 7 p.m.) as well as a Wine Country Auction & Dinner that will take place in the new tent in the Park, specially set for the 2010 Paso Robles Wine Festival.
