Vineyards & Winemaking
Our wines are attentively guided from winegrowing through winemaking by Winemaster Chuck Ortman and Winemaker Matt Ortman.
Vineyards
We work with a small "family" of premium Central Coast winegrowers whose vineyards are distinguished by progressive viticulture, exceptional terroir and world-class fruit. These vineyards are the soul of the Ortman style, yielding the elements that are essential to our vision for each varietal. At times, this requires sourcing grapes from two or more vineyards, each chosen for their specific qualities and ultimately merged to craft wines of fullness and complexity. Winemaking
As an artisan family winery, our production is limited, with each lot guided by hand and aged in premium French oak cooperage. Traditional methods are favored to ensure wine quality and integrity, including hand harvesting of the grapes, gentle handling in the cellar and minimal processing.
